5 good reasons to see RHYMEZONE: Good On Ya Mum, Hip-Hop’s The One

1. Every RHYMEZONE show is completely improvised which means you get to help shape the show. Going off your suggestion, we will craft a hip-hop musical on the spot (think Hamilton). This also means that every night is different! Which means you could come see every one of our shows and they will all be different! In fact you should come see our show every night just to make sure they are all different.

2. This isn’t your father’s improvised comedy. This one has beats. It also has us being forced to freestyle at the drop of a hat. So for the masochists out there come and enjoy watching us having to suddenly rap about the main exports of Tunisia, for everyone else just come and be amazed by our freestyle ability.

3. RHYMEZONE is made up of best friends Cristina “Rhyme” Spizzica and Jeremy “Zone” Hughes, and look, we’re pretty sweet and endearing. Wholesomeness is our brand and if we haven’t charmed the socks off of you by the end of the show then we will happily physically remove your socks for you no questions asked!

4. This show is very loosely themed around bread. And we mean very loosely in that it will be referenced at the top of the show and then never again. But everyone loves bread! Even celiacs, although in their case bread just doesn’t love them back. So come to the show and fly your bread flag high. There will be prizes for best bread costume every night (there won’t be, please don’t come dressed as bread expecting a prize).

5. One of the main reasons anyone takes a punt on a show is how punny the name is. And this show has a very punny name. The title is actually quite clever in that its pun plays off the well-known bread advertisement slogan: “Good on ya Mum! Tip Top’s the One!” and twists it to reflect the freestyle hip-hop musical nature of our show with “Good on ya Mum! Hip Hop’s the One!”. So come and see the show based on the amount of effort that was put into the name (which was a lot). It’s the yeast you can do.

Good On Ya Mum, Hip-Hop’s The One is on at TIC Swanston from March 25 to April 5
