5 Good Reasons to See Matt Harvey, I Got Bit By a Monkey Once

1- This is a storytelling show, so the events are all true events. Comedy has a habit of exaggerating for comedic purpose, but not this show.

2- Matt suspects he can confidently say this is the only festival show in which someone gets bitten by a monkey.

3- Think of it as being like Eat, Pray, Love but nobody learns anything significant. Spoiler alert: There will be no life changing revelations.

4- This will not be a political show, sick of politics? Great, this is the show for you. Bring all your friends for a show that wont cause a debate at the dinner table afterwards.

5- At the heart of the story is shadenfreude. A dumb protagonist making poor choices which will lead to your entertainment. Come feel better about your choices by listening to Matt poor choices past.

5 Good Reasons to See The Book of Snorin’ – Sleep Apnea the Musical by Stew Walker

1. It’s the world’s first comedy show about sleep apnea. By seeing the show you’ll be part of history!

2. The show is educational as well as funny. If you snore or love someone who does, this show might save your relationship or even your life.

3. There are silly songs in a big range of genres like pop, blues, country, folk and even Europop!

4. I perform the song in my pyjamas, and have had the fly sewn up to ensure no wardrobe malfunctions.

5. In one song I try making up verses based on audience suggestions. Hopefully! Maybe I won’t pull it off and I’ll crash and burn…

5 Good Reasons to See Lessons with Luis – Stickin’ Together

1. Go out and get some happy vibes by watching some top quality, non-political, warm and fuzzy comedy made by award-winning comedians like me and my brother in Stickin’ Together.

2. You do not have to sit through ad breaks encouraging you to buy insurance or pasta sauce.

3. It is a good excuse to not have to dust that dusty shelf you have been meaning to dust in your spare time (which is also sometimes dusting time).

4. You can wear that fancy shirt and/or dress you love the look of but do not really have enough occasions to wear it before Easter. It might not fit on you as well after too many chocolate bunnies. Unless you are very strict with yourself. But you know two chocolate bunnies taste better than one.

5. Your cat will let you. They love you so they will respect your choice of seeing a cat person perform, so you do not need to feel bad about going out. Your dog should understand too. Goldfish will not remember you left.

5 Good Reasons to See Sophie Joske: Woman of the Hour

1. It’s classic Hollywood glamour, but weird.

Meet Cassandra Barbitol, an eccentric, deluded dame of the stage with a tale to tell. Woman of the Hour is her story: that of a faded but still glittering star. It’s the demented love child of Grey Gardens and Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?

2. One woman plays 35 characters.
Yes, I (Sophie Joske, writer and performer) play not only Cassandra Barbitoll but 34 other characters as well. There are no other actors, no set, no props, and no costume changes. Reading this I’m sure you can tell that that’s either very good or very bad. Either way, worth witnessing the spectacle. However:

3. It is really good.
I’m a weird theatre comedy professional and last year I got nominated for the Golden Gibbo, the year before that I was nominated for Best Comedy at FRINGE WORLD in Perth and I’ve sold out a bunch of shows there too. This show in particular is very good. It was only on for 3 nights in Perth and it got two five star reviews! That makes it a ten star show!4. It’s a feminist good time!

It’s surely not surprising that a show called Woman of the Hour has a strong feminist bent. It’s all about the roles women are made to play in performing their gender- in show business and in life. You get to laugh a bunch AND smash the patriarchy!

5. There’s a dinosaur.
Yep. Check it out.
